Film City
Since the early 1970s, Hollywood has always had a competitor in the film producing industry. This competitor was located in the bustling city of Mumbai, which sits on the west coast of India. At some point, the world realized that Mumbai, and India as a whole, had a real knack for producing high-quality cinema; thus, the movie industry in Mumbai quickly became known as "Bollywood." Bollywood was used in reference to the American Hollywood, which has always been known for its cinema, so it only seemed fair that since India was producing competitive cinema with Hollywood, it should be nicknamed Bollywood; the name has stuck ever since.

As mentioned above, Bollywood is the name of the Indian film industry, but Mumbai is also referred to as "Film City," for the same reasons. Film City is obviously located in Mumbai, but to be more precise, it is located near Gurgaon, an Aeray colony, and is also located right outside of Mumbai's national park. Unlike in Hollywood, where there are studios littered all over the place, in Film City, one can expect mainly just one large studio that is responsible for carrying out all of the film tasks, such as shooting, editing, etc. However, Film City is home to many different sets just like Hollywood, where different scenes and settings can be shot during the process of filming the movie.

Unfortunately, there is a downside to Film City, and that is the fact that typically it is closed to the general public. Every so often, members of the general public are allowed to visit the studio, but usually people can only visit the studio if they have the proper permission. Even though the studio is pretty much off limits, Film City churns out a number of great movies that become popular worldwide; therefore, the best part of Film City (the cinema) is always easily accessible by the general public.
