Chor Bazaar
Chor Bazaar
It does not matter what country you are in, it seems like everyone loves shopping at flea markets; probably because of all the random items that are available at them. When it comes to markets, bazaars, and flea markets, South Mumbai is no stranger to them at all; in fact, South Mumbai is home to one of the largest flea markets in India. This flea market is referred to as the Chor Bazaar. An interesting fact about the Chor Bazaar is that it is sometimes called the "Thief Market," mainly because people tend to think that the products and goods there are stolen; hence the name "Chor," which means thief.

Just like at any flea market around the world, one can buy some pretty random, yet interesting goods. One aspect about the Chor Bazaar that most shoppers find appealing is the fact that the prices at this flea market typically run well below average. This fact usually is shocking to shoppers because the value of the products usually seems much higher than the prices that they are being sold for; hence why most people think that the goods being sold there are stolen. However, contrary to popular belief, around half of the products that are brought in and sold, come from the Waghri Bazaar.

The Chor Bazaar opens up every Friday, from as early as 4 a.m. but usually never later than 7-8 p.m. The Chor Bazaar is essentially composed of many different walkways, filled with numerous vendors selling absolutely anything the imagination can wonder. Priceless treasures are sometimes bought and sold here as if they were nothing, which is one of the reasons why many people are attracted to the bazaar in the first place, because they want to get their hands on a treasure. However, you will never get any of the priceless gems being sold there if you do not go, so what are you waiting for?
